I have always loved books, but this blog began because am in a strange situation right now, and one of the positives I have searched out is that I have a very good excuse to sit idle, to curl up with a good book. One of the negatives is that my memory gets muddled easily, so I can't necessarily recall what I read without some record.
And so, like the modern girl I am, I turn to the internet, because what better way could there be to keep a record of what I have found in books, than by sharing it with everyone who has an internet connection and the time to stumble on this blog?
I am in my mid twenties, and two years ago I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, which is being beaten into submission with intensive and lengthy chemotherapy. I will talk some about cancer, about being, specifically, a young adult with cancer. I will talk mostly about books, specifically, about young adult fiction (though not only YA fiction, I try for a little balance.)
Good stories are good medicine. Or at least that's the working theory behind the blog.
